We have probably all heard of Harry Styles by now – whether that is through the boy band One Direction, his globally successful music, or his iconic style. After taking a two-year break from the music industry, he announced a brand new album, “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.” Many people wanted him to give us a rock album, and here he is, dropping an electric disco album. Let’s just say the fans are happy. The official drop date of the album was March 6, 2026. Hundreds of fans were filled with immense excitement for his return and eager to review and enjoy his new album, which is exactly what we will be doing here. Breaking down the album, song by song.
“Aperture”
The song “Aperture” was the first Styles released from the album, and the first we got to listen to.
Eva – At first, the song got some backlash, but it grew on people. It starts out a little slow and then quickly becomes very upbeat; the moments leading up to the chorus almost feel like a countdown. Once the “countdown” ends, elements of both excitement and dread weave throughout the song. My honest rating for this song would be seven out of 10.
Evelyn – Like many, I was not sure how I felt about this song when it first came out. However, the more I listen to it the more intrigued I am. When he released it as a single, I thought it was okay. Listening to it as a whole with the album start to finish tells a story, with the opening song talking about how aperture lets the light in and how two people belong together. I would give it a seven out of 10.
“American Girls”
Eva – I interpreted this song as a message to his friends: that they are finding love and settling down while he lives an abnormal, single life. In my opinion, this is also another great song. It creates a feeling of loneliness if you are someone who focuses on the lyrics, but the beat is far from depressing or lonely, as the lyrics may suggest. I would rate this song an eight out of 10.
Evelyn – I love the soft opening of “American Girls.” It really brings you inside the song, and when it is time for the chorus it picks up a little bit with a catchy beat. To be honest, to me the chorus is a little too repetitive and I prefer the slower parts of the song that feel more honest and real. Still, the song is a good addition to the album that I think matches the vibe Styles was trying to achieve. I would rate this song a seven out of 10 as well.
“Ready, Steady, Go!”
Eva – It feels very fast-moving and like he is in a rush. Especially in the last minute or so, the beat speeds up and quickly comes to an end. It seems like he is trying to mimic a relationship that feels like it is moving very fast with the pace and lyrics. I thought the song was pretty catchy, but it is not my favorite on the album. I would give it a six out of 10.
Evelyn – This song brings a different feeling that I can not quite put my finger on. It feels like a mix of a different music genre, and not the type of song Styles would normally produce. I do think the song is catchy overall though. For me, it gets a six out of 10.
“Are You Listening Yet?”
Eva – This song feels like a message to himself, like he is trying to tell himself something. Like he has been waiting to, but keeps ignoring it until he can not anymore. It has a very rhythmic, almost innovative beat that some may enjoy, but is not my cup of tea. I would give this song a four out of 10.
Evelyn – The beginning of the song is probably my least favorite intro on the album. Styles can do so much with his vocals, as we have seen on his first album “Sign of the Times” as well as many other covers, but the fast-paced talking seems to me like it is lacking. Again, the chorus just feels pretty repetitive when the title of the song is continuously repeated. Five out of 10.
“Taste Back”
Eva – It is an upbeat breakup song with a taste of sourness and sarcasm. He repeatedly asks, “Did you get your taste back?” which is obviously a hypothetical question, creating a feeling of annoyance and anger. Besides the fact that this is a post-breakup song, if you do not listen to the lyrics, it feels like a joyful song. This is a popular theme in this album. I would give this song an eight out of 10.
Evelyn – “Ready, Steady, Go!” and “Are You Listening Yet?” are in my opinion the most different from the rest of the songs on the album and the most out of Styles comfort zone. “Taste Back” brings me back to the feeling when I listened to the first two songs on the album. Somehow, Styles makes me feel emotional and upbeat at the same time, and that is something I love about this album. While Styles sings about personal experiences, like being lonely and needing love, you can still find a way to dance to the song. This song receives my highest rating so far, an eight and a half out of 10.
“The Waiting Game”
Eva – This is a song about fear of committing and the frustration of making the same mistakes over and over. The beat has a sort of disco vibe, with background vocals. It is the type of music where you can hear the different layers without listening too hard. Overall, I really enjoy this song, but it feels a little repetitive to me. I would give it a solid seven out of 10.
Evelyn – I love this song and the slow vocals where you can really hear Styles singing, and it feels natural. The beginning of the song makes me feel like I am floating. I like the truth to the song, where you get the sense of having to play the waiting game hoping it will work out, even though it ends up “adding up to nothing” which is one of the main repeating lyrics in the song. I would probably give this song a nine out of 10.
“Season 2 Weight loss”
Eva – When I first saw the title of this song, I was confused but also intrigued. Most of the songs in this album are a deep reflection on Styles himself, and this one is not any different. I do think it is a more positive take than the others because it is about personal growth. The instrumental part of the song is a little funky, but tuneful. Again, it does feel a bit repetitive to me, but the chorus makes up for it. I would give it a six and a half out of ten (I am still not fully sure how I feel about this song).
Evelyn – I do not know how I feel about this song, but as I am sitting here trying to review it and really paying attention to it, it definitely is not my favorite. It sounds very desperate as Styles “hopes you love [him] now,” but it honestly sounds fake. If you are begging for someone’s love, you need to sound sincere about it and put your soul into the song and this one does not do it for me. I want to hear the realness and emotion behind his voice. With that being said, I think if you are playing this album from start to finish it is not necessarily a bad addition. Four and a half out of 10.
“Coming Up Roses”
Eva – When I first listened to the album all the way through, this song stuck out to me most – in the best way possible. It is a song about embracing and cherishing a relationship (especially its early stages), even if it does not last forever. The lyrics tell a great story, but I think the strings and orchestra elements take the win for the most impressive aspect in this song. I would give this song a true 10 out of 10.
Evelyn – For this song, I completely agree with Eva. This song feels beautiful and organic. Unlike the previous one on the album, it feels real. Instead of begging for love, Styles is asking if just for the night if things can be normal between two lovers again. I think this is because he can tell a relationship is over, but needs to spend a moment reminiscing together before he can move on and that is exactly what this song feels like. 10 out of 10!
“Pop”
Eva – It captures the feeling of starting a new romance and touches on the idea of being a perfectionist as a pop star – hence the song’s title, “Pop.” When Styles sings the word “Pop,” he puts an emphasis on it, almost like a sound effect. I find this very satisfying when listening, and it also creates a sort of visual for the audience that you do not see much in music. I would give this a seven out of ten.
Evelyn – I also must give “Pop” a 10 out of 10, but for different reasons. I can not really explain what is so intriguing to me about this song. It feels different from his style, but in a good way – almost like he is stepping out of his comfort zone just the right amount. Every time I listen to this song, I really can not help wanting to move around to it. I am usually not the biggest fan of pop music, but for me this song is a hit.
“Dance No More”
Eva – This song is about finding freedom from the pressure of performing and the desire to participate like others. I like the message of this song, but the song itself is not my favorite. The beat feels all over the place and a little hectic. I would rate this song a three out of 10.
Evelyn – This song feels a little similar to “Pop” but not executed as well as it could have been. I do not mind it though, I still think it is catchy. The way “satisfied and live your life” sounds when Styles is singing is honestly quite addicting. But after that, I do not like the “respect your mother” part, which I think is partially why Eva thinks the song is all over the place. Definitely not the worst, but some parts are not my favorite. Six out of 10.
“Paint By Numbers”
Eva – Like the other songs on the album, this is a reflection on Styles’ journey and what it feels like to be in the spotlight. He expresses how he feels about the public perception of him being inaccurate and not true to himself. This is a short, slow song with mainly acoustic guitar instruments. I really enjoy this song and would give it a nine out of 10.
Evelyn – This song is the slowest on the album, and it feels a little weird to go from “Dance No More” to this, but I understand the intention behind it. This song feels slow, romantic and alluring, but other than that I do not have much to say about it. I am curious as to what the real meaning behind this song is. It is an eight out of 10 for me.
“Carla’s Song”
Eva – This song is about one of Styles’ close friends, Carla, and her introduction to the transformative power of music. I think it was intentional for him to end the album with this song, which is about how powerful music can be. As for the song’s actual sound, I love it. It is a mix of slow and fast pace, with electronic-like beats. Ending the album strongly, I give it a nine out of 10.
Evelyn – “Carla’s Song” is a great way to end the album. It is the perfect mix of a slow song that still feels inspirational. I think the meaning behind it is great as well, building up the importance of music and supporting other friends and artists. As Eva said, I just love the way it sounds in general and the sincerity Styles presents when he says “It’s all waiting there for you.” After being taken on a ride of emotion and wanting to dance, this song makes you leave the album feeling encouraged. The twelfth song on the album receives a nine out of 10 from me.
