Matthew Doron, Community Liaison
Matthew Doron (he/him) is a senior at UAHS and the Community Liaison for Arlingtonian. Matthew began his work in student journalism by covering the 2019 UA City Council election in his freshman year as a Journalism I student, came out as transgender and advocated for transgender rights as a staff writer his sophomore year and led multiple spotlight investigations his junior year as a managing editor. He has won multiple awards from the Ohio Scholastic Media Association for his work and is passionate about covering political and current affairs and conducting investigations into systemic issues. Matthew has also been awarded for his legal, fiction and nonfiction writing abilities and has been awarded by the Ohio Center for Law Related Education for his legal advocacy in both mock trial and moot court. When not in the newsroom or courtroom, Matthew can be found volunteering with the Legal Aid Society of Columbus, mutual aid organizations or advocating for reproductive, queer and climate justice. In his spare time, he enjoys geeking out about science fiction and cinema.
