Attending a music festival is an unforgettable experience; seeing multiple performers for around the same price as a one day ticket for a single artist, festival goers are able to get the most bang for their buck. Fortunately for those ready for fun, there are two upcoming festivals in our Columbus backyard.
This year, Breakaway Music Festival will take place at The Historic Crew Stadium Aug. 25-26. The 2023 lineup features artists Zedd, Chris Lake, Flume, and more. The festival is dubbed “Breakaway” because fans are encouraged to escape into a world of pure fun. Attendees can expect top hits, EDM, and hip-hop music. If the energy and noise starts to be too much, break away from the crowd and head to the silent disco offered by one of the festival’s sponsors.
Since the festival’s first appearance in Columbus ten years ago, they have grown immensely, and now have festivals in six other cities throughout the Midwest.
For those looking for more than music, Wonderbus Music and Arts Festival is happening the same weekend. Ohio’s largest contemporary music festival has performers Pitbull, Demi Lovato, Caamp, and more. Beyond music, Wonderbus is an arts and culinary festival. They offer a wide variety of food options and vendors to accommodate everyone. Wonderbus 2023 will be held at The Lawn at CAS from Aug. 25-27.
Be prepared to have tickets before attending either festival. Breakaway and Wonderbus offer student tickets with proof of enrollment. The tickets are discounted more than 50% off general admission costs, so they sell out very quickly. For both festivals, a variety of other tickets are offered including VIP and general admission packages. Purchasing tickets directly through the concerts website will guarantee you do not get scammed.
Lastly, head to the venue a few hours in advance to get the front row experience. Most festival-goers camp out at their favorite singers’ respective stage to ensure they don’t miss one minute of the performance. The memories created at a festival will last forever.
