For some, a new school year is something exciting, for others it is something to be dreaded. For most, however, it is a mixture of both.
Change is not always welcome, nor is it easy, but is something that is necessary for each individual to grow and achieve their highest potential. The ability for humans to adapt is not something to take for granted, and something to utilize as we enter this new chapter of our lives together.
As we enter a new phase of our lives, we are faced with a range of both challenges and opportunities. It is always easy to focus on the negative aspects of change and forgo the countless opportunities presented to you, but I encourage you to do both.
Overcome your challenges, face them head on. And then do something fun. We aren’t teenagers forever, this is our time to grow. To make mistakes. To learn from our mistakes. And to have fun, whatever that means to you.
Arlingtonian is welcoming this school year with open arms. We want to make the most of this year and move forward knowing that we pursued any and all opportunities available to us.
Mistakes are going to be made, and that’s okay. We will grow because of them and come out the other end as better people and a better publication.
The Arlingtonian newsroom is always open to those who want to join, fight, or just say hi. Swing by W1307 during seventh period for new friends or to pitch ideas. All are welcome and encouraged to come.
This is a new chapter of our lives. Bring with you only what you want, and leave behind the things that drag you down. Do whatever it is you want to do this year.
At the end of the day, your life is what you make it. I encourage you to take control of your life and write your story however you want it to be written.
